LEGION Simulator Help

Camera, Image, Video, and Map Defaults

For consistency and ease of use when producing analysis outputs, all default configuration for Cameras, Map and Graph image outputs, and video outputs are centralised at two locations:

  1. At the Application level, defaults for image-based analysis outputs held in Tools > Options > Output Options. These setting apply to all new LEGION Simulation Analysis Project (.ana file) (herein “Project”) on your PC.
  2. At the Project level, defaults are held in Simulator Project Settings (herein “SPS”). Values from SPS are used each time a new Camera is created, or a new visual output is defined.

See Application, Project and Object Defaults for more details on the defaults hierarchy.

The purpose is to minimise the effort needed to prepare consistent outputs. Defaults are provided for these aspects of output production:

  • Camera aspect ratio
  • Image aspect ratio, size, and file format
  • Video aspect ratio and size
  • Visual Config to use in Map recordings

Each time a new Project is created, the Application defaults initialise Camera, image, video, and Map defaults in the SPS of that project. In turn, values in that SPS define the Project’s initial defaults and the defaults for all new objects added to that Project.

The method for configuring these defaults is the same at the Application level (Tools > Options menu) and the Project level (SPS). For simplicity, only configuration of SPS defaults is discussed here.

These instructions assume the Edit Simulator Project Settings dialog is open, and that the ‘Cameras, Images, Video and Maps’ tab is selected:
Details of each tab section are given below. Make any required changes then click ‘OK’.
Note: Changing SPS values will only affect new objects created in the current Project. Global options are not updated.
